Be At The Top Of A Google Search By Making Your Site Relevant!

Your site must contain text that is clearly related to your business. Here?s how to do this:
1. Include ?key? words that a visitor would search for, like: Find, Search for, homes, condos, condominiums, apartments, multi families, land, horse properties, antiques, new construction, rehabs, foreclosures, farms, properties, real estate, for sale, MLS, MA, Massachusetts, Buy, Buyer, Sell, Sold, name of towns in your market area, etc.

The public does not search for Realtors!

2. Where to add these key search words:
A. Site Branding - Web Site button
? Site Name: Style like a sentence
? Site Description: Style like a sentence

B. Web Page Name & Page Title - Edit Page > go to Page Controls at top each page

C. Text on each web page:
? Goal is to make site inviting and still use key words.
? Create sentences and incorporate your key words.
? Standard Text Section: Title Text has more weight than plain text.
? Text at top of a web page is more important than text at bottom of page
? Use sentences on Web site, not just a string of words.

D. Add a link to your listings and sales on your side bar: Link To My Act / Sold MLS Properties.
Your Agent Remarks on each of your listings will be found by a search engines.

E. Text in a JPG image cannot be searched by a search engine.
Add text behind all images - Edit image and add text to Alternate Text field.

F. Add your market towns to your home page: Add Market Area Text section.
This section type automatically adds a list of your Members' Search Towns

G. Side Bar - Add relevant text and Links

H. Header - If header is an image, add text behind the image, see above.

J. Make sure all important information is in a text format rather than within an image.

3. Use Google as your test search engine: it's the largest and most used. Google crawls web sites every 4 to 7 days. To see when Google crawls your site, add some unique words on the side bar or home page, then do a Google search for these words 4 to 7 days later and see if your site appears. After modifying your site, run some typical buyer and seller searches in 7 to 15 days and see how your modifications have improved your site?s search engine placement.

4. When you run a test search, review the web sites that are at the top and above yours and see what words and phrases they used.

5. Test your searches on other key search engines and directories like: Yahoo.com, AOL.com, MSN.com and AllTheWeb.com
After you run a test search, review the web sites that appeared above your site and near the top of the search and see what they did. Tweak your site accordingly, wait 7 - 10 days and rerun your searches. Other Search Engines like AOL.com, MSN.com, Yahoo.com put more weight on your Site Branding and Web Page Names. Google places more weight on relevant text on your web pages.

Driving visitors to your site from a search engine or from your personal promotion is only part of the battle. Now you need to close the sale by getting the visitors to sign up as members. To do this:
1. Clearly present your USP (Unique Selling Propositions) in your web site Header or at the top of your home page. Make your USP?s enticing so a visitor ?sticks? to your site.

2. Add relevant pictures of real estate to your home page and other pages.
